Carolina Beach rental property booking tips:

When to reserve a Carolina Beach rental & When to go:

  • Reserve your rental property in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Carolina Beach area travel guides which include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Finding the perfect rental in Southport:

  • Start by having your family decide on a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. St. James Peaceful Villa. Short distance to the beach, Southport and Oak Island has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Carolina Beach rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available online. If not, email the property management company before you book the home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.

Know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the host immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of problems.
  • Be respectful. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a terrific stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
