Strategies to get the optimal Carolina Beach vacation property experience:

When to book a Carolina Beach rental home & When to go:

  • In the Carolina Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Oak Island. To get the best value, consider shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local Carolina Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for nearby tours and attractions.

Narrow your Search:

  • First and foremost, have your family agree to vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Spoils of Victory - 4927 E. Beach Drive- Coastal Vacation Resorts has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the property manager before booking the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation group.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
  • Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the host's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
  • Record any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to compel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
