In addition, our Island is the most significant historical site in NC at Fort Fisher. We also have an award winning Aquarium on the Island. Drive your truck onto the North End or South end and enjoy a day on the beach unparalleled in most places in the country where you can drive directly on to the beach strand and surf fish, Bar-B-Que and get away to even more tranquility and peaceful. Appreciate the State Park for stargazing, kayaking, boating, a walk on the river beaches, or hiking and searching for some Venus Fly Traps, native in the world to this area only.
