Tricks and tips to get the very best rental home experience:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the most suitable rental home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Some owners offer special rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local Carolina Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Selecting the perfect rental home:

  • Begin by choosing a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Seas The Day w\/ Fantastic Marina Views! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before booking the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is best for your group.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs applied to your contract.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Note any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
