Our top Oak Island rental booking tips and tricks:

When to visit & When to reserve a Carolina Beach rental home:

  • Summer months are high season in the Carolina Beach area. To find the best value, try changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • In the Carolina Beach area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Many rental management companies supply Carolina Beach area visitor guides that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Choose your dates and spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Sandy Toes: Oceanview House with Fishing Poles and Bikes on East Beach has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property management company before booking the property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation.
  • If there's an individual Carolina Beach destination you crave, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • Upon check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a terrific stay? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
