Our top Rental booking tips:

Getting the best rental value:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Carolina Beach area. Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local Carolina Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Filter your search:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. S6D - Pet-friendly 3 bedroom\/2 bath condo in Sandpiper Bay Sunset Beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before reserving your home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is best for your trip.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
  • Does your group require unique amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • During arrival, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a terrific vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
