A excellent couple's getaway and a ideal setting for birders and wildlife enthusiasts. It's just a five-min. walk to the beach to savor a day in the sun. Unwind on the private deck overlooking the wetlands and take in some bird watching - more than 200 species of birds inhabit the island each summer. Take a relaxing kayak paddle off our dock or a bicycle ride around the island. Treat yourself to a round of golf at the Oak Island Country Club. It's a short walk to Ocean Crest Pier or to Island Way Restaurant for oceanfront dining. Drive to close by Southport and ride the ferry to Bald Head Island or historic Ft. Fisher. Wilmington is less than an hour's drive away.
At least one day, take the time to go to the beach to watch the sun set in the West before you come back to the guest home to relax and plan your tomorrow. Step outside and find a constellation or two or three.
