Our top Wrightsville Beach vacation rental home tips and tricks:

When to reserve a Carolina Beach rental home & When to go:

  • In the Carolina Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Book your rental property in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Carolina Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have coupons for nearby tours and attractions.

Planning and choosing the best Carolina Beach vacation home:

  • Begin by choosing the best vacation week and a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Spacious oceanfront condo in Wrightsville Dunes! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the host before booking the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your vacation.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking

More tips for your stay:

  • Add the owner's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • At Check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on good feedback to drive future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
