Tricks and tips to get the perfect rental home experience:

Find your perfect rental:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Carolina Beach area. To get the best value, try shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • In the Carolina Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Some property managers offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local Carolina Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Selecting and booking a perfect Carolina Beach vacation home:

  • First, have your family agree to the best dates and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Nikki’s Quiet Little Island Getaway has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • If there's an individual Carolina Beach destination you love, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.

Tips for a great stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
  • To make certain damages aren't linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the property manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great feedback to compel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
