Our top Rental booking tips and tricks:

When to book & When to go:

  • In the Carolina Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Summer is high season in the Carolina Beach area. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

How to choose the best rental:

  • First, have your group choose date ranges and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. All Summer Long: Modern Home located in the Woodlands and Waterway area of Oak I has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the host before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental

During your stay:

  • Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. message the property manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a terrific time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
