The unit has a flat screen TV in the living room, central air and refreshed kitchens with granite counter tops. The outside shower with hot and cold water is a great way to wash off the sand after a day on the beach. There is washer/dryer on the back porch that is shared between both units. The location of this bungalow has all of your vacation needs within walking distance. It is a one mile walk to downtown Wrightsville Beach, where you will find a grocery store, beach units, eateries and more.

A few steps out of the front door you will find yourself at the Oceanic Restaurant. The restaurant is part of the old Crystal Pier with outside dining and live music. Across the street from the bungalow is South End Surf Shop, with paddle board and bicycle units, in addition to clothes and sun screen. Sundays coffee shop is located above the surf shop. Take your laptop and appreciate a brew with a view of the Atlantic ocean and east coast surfing. Buy a t-shirt, coffee mug, etc. because you’ll want to remember this iconic spot. Walking on the South end is the best. Be sure to have your camera with you when walking south because you will see the bird sanctuary and inlet. Tricks and tips to get the very best vacation home experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Some property managers offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Carolina Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain coupons for local tours and attractions.

How to select the perfect rental:

  • Begin by choosing a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Nathans Cottage Upper -Top floor duplex with sound views next to Oceanic Pier has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the host before booking the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what is right for your vacation family.
  • Visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make sure no damages are attributed to your visit, note any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the host right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a wonderful time? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
