Sticking to a rental budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Oak Island. To find the most suitable vacation home within budget, we suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Carolina Beach attractions.
  • In the Carolina Beach area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses.
