Strategies to get the perfect rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Reserve your rental home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • In the Carolina Beach area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Carolina Beach area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to select the perfect rental home in the Carolina Beach area:

  • Choose a group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Large Home with Beach Views and Pool and elevator has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Carolina Beach rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you reserve your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation family.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or costs could be applied to your invoice.

More considerations:

  • Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Upon arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many problems.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to inspire future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
