The rental fee includes a housekeeping service supplied at the end of your stay, except for units of less than 5 nights.

Sunset Beach is the southernmost barrier island in NC with wide sand beaches protected by rows of dramatic dunes. It was ranked #4 by National Geographic as one of the 21 best beaches in the world in 2017, and made TripAdvisors list of budget beach vacations. It is a most calming, family aligned beach, with only a few low rise retail outlets, but close to the many amenities of Myrtle Beach. Just off the island there are also many eateries, stores and other recreational outlets, as well as multiple world class golf courses. Just a short walk down the beach, Bird Island, a national wildlife preserve, consists of a two mile strand of uninhabited beach(except for the many species of birds, deer, goats and turtles) to make your walk or bicycle ride even more fun.

Our top Carolina Beach vacation rental home tips and tricks:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To get the best value, change your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Many rental management companies supply Carolina Beach area travel guides which often include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Begin by choosing trip dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Island Home is a 'Sheer Delight' at a Bargain Rate has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before booking the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your trip.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.

Know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • During check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peace. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to compel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
