Summary:
Happy as a Clam is a brand new 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom luxury townhouse constructed in 2022 with bespoke finishes throughout. Pride of ownership throughout this home, and we hope you feel welcome when you stay! Savor the reverse floorplan with the kitchen and living room on the top level! Several private patios to savor the fresh ocean breeze! Great central location, and you'll appreciate the proximity to the beach! Outdoor shower and you need to do some remote work, there are two desks and fast wifi!

The Space:
Happy as a Clam is a 3 story townhome- please note there are stairs.

All Going Coastal properties include bed linens, bathing towels, paper products, and soaps/shampoos. Please bring your own beach gear, or we can recommend our favorite local vendors for units.

Guest Access:
Please enter through the gate (LEFT Side of the townhome AND NOT THROUGH THE FRONT DOOR BY THE GARAGE) Guest access through side door.

Please note that guest will not have access to the garage.

The grille uses propane that each guest is responsible for providing for themselves. The grille is not part of the cleaning fee so please clean it after each use. Thank you.

The neighborhood is close to everything with a mix of visitors and year round residents.

-Bicycle and golf cart units are available on the island- let our Going Coastal team know if you need any recommendations.

- Centrally located to all outdoor activities "Pleasure Island" has to offer fishing, boating, cycling, surfing, kayaking, and deep sea charters. Many spectacular eateries, eclectic drinking holes and coffee stores + Historic Ft. Fisher and the NC Aquarium. Check out Carolina Beach’s new mural project too!
- Wilmington Airport and Downtown Wilmington less than 40 mins away.
- Take the ferry to enjoy Southport for the day!

We also supply the following for each property:
A starter kit of one roll of toilet paper per bathroom, one roll of paper towels, a trash bag, and dish soap. We also supply laundered bed linens, comforters, and 1 bathing towel and wash cloth per person. We do not supply any beach gear or beach towel. We have great rental companies on the island we would be more than happy to share the info with you. We also do not supply laundry detergent, body soap or shampoo/conditioner as we find everybody has their own preferences for these =) Please review our home rules prior to your stay

About the Area

Wilmington Beach, a neighborhood in Carolina Beach, is home to this vacation home. Fort Fisher State Historic Site and Old Brunswick County Jail Museum are local landmarks, and some of the area's attractions include Carolina Beach Boardwalk and Odysea Surf and Kiteboard School. North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher and Tregembo Animal Park are also worth visiting.

Strategies to get the perfect Carolina Beach vacation property experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Carolina Beach area. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Booking websites often offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.

  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to compel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
