Our top Rental booking tips:

Finding the best rental value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Carolina Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.

How to choose and book your prefect Carolina Beach rental:

  • First, have your family select trip dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Gorgeous house on pond 4 minute drive to beach has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before booking your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your group.
  • If there's a specific Carolina Beach destination you are crazy about, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.

Tips for a wonderful stay:

  • Get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Note any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your life at home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect your property!
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a great vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
