Tips to get the perfect vacation home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Book your Carolina Beach vacation home in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • In the Carolina Beach area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local Carolina Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Selecting the perfect rental:

  • Choose your dates and spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Freshly updated Oak Island home-minutes to beach - screen porch & outdoor shower has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the host before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a terrific time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
