Strategies to get the optimal Carolina Beach vacation home experience:

Finding your perfect rental home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Reserve your rental home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Booking websites typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Carolina Beach area visitor guides which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning, selecting, and booking the bestrental:

  • Start by choosing your vacation dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Hobbs Realty - Oceanfront Home w\/Backyard, Covered Porches, and Direct Beach Access has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • If there's a particular Carolina Beach attraction you simply love, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

During your stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Document any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of problems.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • At departure, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
