Strategies to get the optimal vacation rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a good way to save on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Carolina Beach area visitor guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Selecting and booking the best Carolina Beach rental home:

  • First, have your family agree to vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Cozy, Cul-de-sac Cottage 3\/2 near Greenfield Lake Park+Amphitheater has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before booking your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your trip.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's an individual Carolina Beach attraction you simply love, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .

During your stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of concerns.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Record any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if damages are assessed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to inspire new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
