Tricks and tips to get the best Carolina Beach rental experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Summertime is high season in the Carolina Beach area. Reserve your Carolina Beach rental in Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Carolina Beach area visitors guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting the perfect rental home:
- First and foremost, have your family agree to date ranges and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. OceanView Home w\/Private Pool and Private Beach Access has 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Carolina Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available online. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or might be applied to your invoice.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
Know before you go:
- Get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of issues.
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- Note any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to inspire more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
