How to book the best Carolina Beach vacation rental experience:

Sticking to a rental home budget:

  • Summer is high season in Carolina Beach. Reserve your vacation home in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Carolina Beach area visitor guides which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to choose and book the bestrental:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. Cabana 213 on the Carolina Beach Boardwalk! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before booking the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If there's a particular Carolina Beach beach you are enamored with, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
  • To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the host right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to inspire new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
