Tricks and tips to get the perfect rental home experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are high season in Wrightsville Beach. Booking your Carolina Beach vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is a great way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Often, management companies supply Carolina Beach area travel guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Make a plan and pick the right Carolina Beach rental home:

  • Start by having your group select date ranges and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Breathtaking views. WATERFRONT, PRIVATE PIER, BOAT DOCK, FREE WiFi, PARKING,AC has 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the host before booking your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.

More tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if there is a dispute.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a wonderful stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
