Renovated in 2019, this oceanfront condo at 1704 North Lumina, Wrightsville Beach, sits on a peaceful, pristine stretch of beach and is only a few steps from the waves. If you rise early, your day starts with a charming sunrise over the Atlantic. You can read or dine on the private, 6th floor balcony and savor sea breezes and the relaxing sound of the ocean. Vistas of the water extend throughout the condo. Watch brown pelicans fly by and dolphins play. The beachfront pool and cabana/bar are ideal places to swim, sunbathe, prepare out, and visit with friends and family. Tennis on our court is fun. The short walk along the beach to the heart of town, with stores, a grocery, and eateries, makes your vacation at The Islander 6E a walkable hideaway. Take a walk north to peaceful Mason's Inlet and the 300 acre bird sanctuary.

The Islander 6E is a 2 bedroom condo, with a master bedroom (queen bed) that opens to the oceanfront balcony and a second bedroom (2 twin beds) that faces the sound. The kitchen was modernized in 2019 and is entirely equipped. The bathrooms are refreshed and new tile floor extends throughout the unit. Wireless internet service and the washer/dryer are complimentary. There are two TVs, one in the living room and another in the master bedroom. The decor is light and airy, with all the amenities you have at home. It's a great place to relax and has been our family's getaway for many years.

In the summer 6E rents by the week, Friday to Friday. In the fall, winter, and spring, we can rent by the weekend or by the day.

The modest town of Wrightsville Beach combines older, Carolina-style cottages with newer ones. There are very few neon signs and little 'honky-tonk' business. In addition to fun in the ocean and sand, cycling, kayaking, fishing, and boating are favorite pastimes. If you have an occasional rainy day, you will be glad! The city of Wilmington is right across the drawbridge and is filled with fascinating things to do. The Cape Fear River runs through downtown; and the long boardwalk and historic Cotton Exchange offer unique stores, galleries, and eateries. For culture hounds there is Cameron Art Museum, one of the best in the Southeast. Theater, music venues, art galleries, and historic homes abound. A waterpark, putt-putt golf, and movies are other close by family attractions. Mayfair Shopping Center and The Forum are near Wrightsville Beach and have incredible shopping.

I will be happy to provide more info about the beach or our condo. In the summer, we rent by the week, Friday to Friday, only. At other times of the year you can rent by the week nighttime, weekend, or a combination. Feel complimentary to reach out with questions. Thanks.

Wrightsville Beach rental booking tips and tricks:

When to visit & When to book:

  • Summer months are high season in Wrightsville Beach. To get the largest vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Carolina Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Make a plan and choose the rightvacation home:

  • Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Beautiful, Oceanfront 2-Bedroom Condo, 1704 North Lumina has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property management company before you book your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If there's a particular Carolina Beach beach you are enamored with, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the host's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Record any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to compel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
