Carolina Beach vacation rental home tips and tricks:

Getting the most from your rental budget:

  • In the Carolina Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Summertime is high season in Wrightsville Beach. To get the largest rental home within your budget, we recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Carolina Beach restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Carolina Beach area visitors guides which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and choosing the bestrental:

  • Start by having your family decide on trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Beautiful ocean front townhome in the heart of WB! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Carolina Beach rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what is optimal for your trip.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.
  • Is your group looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .

Additional considerations:

  • Add the property manager's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Document any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to stimulate new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
