Welcome to A Wedge Away, managed by Brunswick Vacation Units!

On the East end of Ocean Isle, with 5 bedrooms, 5 ½ baths, 2 enormous living rooms, 4 patios, an elevator, a pool, an outdoor bar, and less than a 3 min. walk to the beach, A Wedge Away is the ideal home for your next beach vacation.

This new construction has space for everybody and an abundance of natural light through the many huge windows all throughout the home.
Located on the first floor of this reverse floorplan, open concept home, is a massive living space with a huge comfortable couch and couch, offering 4 reclining seats. There is also a bartop table with 4 stools located next to the drink bar with a mini refrigerator, a kuerig coffee maker and a sink. The sizable windows and sliding glass door offer a secondary space for calming while appreciating the ocean vistas.

There are 3 bedrooms on the first floor. The first bedroom, with a king sized bed, has ocean vistas, a private ensuite with a walk-in shower and a double vanity. The second bedroom on the first floor has a queen sized bed, pool vistas, patio access, and a private ensuite with a tub/shower combo. Also located on the first floor is the bunk room with 3 bunk beds, all twin sized, pool vistas, patio access, and a private ensuite with a tub/shower combo.

Moving up to the top level of the home, you enter into the main living area with a huge couch and loveseat, a lounge chair, arm chair and a groovy moon chair. There is plenty of room for the whole family to gather around and play games or watch TV. The room is filled with natural light from the giant windows and sliding glass door leading to the front patio with ocean vistas. Across from the living room is the sizable kitchen with handsome quartz countertops, white cabinets and stainless steel appliances. This kitchen provides 2 dishwashers, and a large peninsula with bar seating for 4. The kitchen offers many modest appliances for guests to use during their stay including a kuerig and drip coffee maker, toaster, kettle, and tons of pots and pans. The kitchen table seats 6 with additional seating for 4 on the patio outside.

The second floor has two bedrooms. The primary bedroom, located next to the kitchen, has a king sized bed, patio access, pool vistas, ensuite with a walk in shower, and double vanity. Located off the living room is the fifth bedroom with a queen sized bed, patio access and pool vistas.

In the large backyard there is an outdoor shower to rinse the sand off before jumping into the pool. Savor freshly grilled meals from the propane grille poolside on the picnic table or outdoor bar. The driveway offers covered parking for 4 and uncovered parking for 3-6 depending on the size of your car.

A Wedge Away is roughly 300 ft from the closest beach access point on Shallotte Blvd.

Kitchen amenities include: a blender, drip and Keurig coffee maker, toaster, mixer, and a waffle maker.

The pool is open year round, however between April 1 - Oct 31 the heater will be on and typically keeps the pool water between 80-84 degrees depending on outside air temperatures and weather. There is no additional cost to heat the pool, but we can not guarantee the pool water temperatures due to the dependency of the weather and air temperatures. Please keep in mind that the heater only runs when the pool pump is running and typically the pump does not run at nighttime due to time schedule.

*Please note, pools will NOT be heated November 1 - March 31*. If you want us to attempt to heat the pool during this time we can for a cost of $75 per day for your entire stay, but once again, we can not guarantee the pool water temperatures due to the dependency of the weather and air temperatures.

No food, drinks, alcohol, glass, etc are allowed in or around the pool. Pools are serviced regularly, however please keep in mind that due to the tropical nature of the island, it is not unusual to find unexpected debris and sand in the pool.

We cannot guarantee the elevator will be working due to circumstances out of our control. Please read elevator instructions CAREFULLY before operating (found in the notebook at the home). Our top Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

Getting the best rental value:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Ocean Isle Beach. Booking your Carolina Beach vacation rental in Spring or Fall is a great way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Carolina Beach area visitor guide magazines that include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Narrow your Search:

  • Choose your vacation dates and max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. A Wedge Away, close to beach, great views, private heated pool has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation.
  • If there's a particular Carolina Beach beach you are crazy about, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the property manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
  • Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to inspire future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
