A Shore Thing is a 1st level condo with a view and an elevator!!! Oceanfront, 2 bedroom, 2 bath, 1st level condo in the elevator building at the sought-after Sea Colony community. Private, assigned parking for 2 cars! The master suite includes a king bed, walk in closet, flat screen tv and private bath. Bedroom #2 homes two twin beds and is adjacent to the hall bathroom. The living area is on the oceanfront side of the condo and accepts the sun to pour in through the triple slider! The ocean vistas are spectacular!

The kitchen is entirely equipped for your stay at the beach. The dining room seats 6 and we have outside seating on the oceanfront balcony! The living room has a queen sleeper couch and a flat screen tv. Wi-Fi is included in your condo. The community features numerous charcoal grilles for your use with one conveniently located in the grassy lawn area outside of your building. The swimming pool is steps away and is its own private getaway. The beach access for owners and guests only and makes for a more private beach strand experience.

Halyburton Park and Carolina Beach reflect the area's natural beauty and area attractions include Carolina Beach Boardwalk and Odysea Surf and Kiteboard School. North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher and Tregembo Animal Park are also worth visiting. When to book & When to go:

  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the best value, try changing your family's Carolina Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Carolina Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation family.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs could be applied to your contract.
  • Is your family looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Record any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute arises.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a excellent time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
