Booking the best Carolina Beach rental experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Carolina Beach area. Reserve your Carolina Beach vacation home in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some property managers offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Carolina Beach area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning, selecting, and booking your prefect Carolina Beach vacation home:

  • Select dates and budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. A Sea View Cottage: Spacious and Sunny Ocean View Home with Private Pool, TV on has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the host before reserving the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is right for your vacation.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More tips for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of concerns.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
  • Note any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to inspire future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
