Sunset Beach vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

When to visit Sunset Beach & When to reserve a Sunset Beach rental home:

  • The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Reserve your rental home in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Carolina Beach area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing and booking a perfectrental home:

  • First, have your group choose a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. 320 Down the Shore by Sunset Vacations has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is usually available online. Otherwise, contact the property manager before booking the property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.
  • If there's a particular Carolina Beach beach you are enamored with, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .

Have a great stay:

  • Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
  • Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a excellent stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
