Our top Ocean Isle Beach vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- Summer months are high season in the Carolina Beach area. To get the best value, shift your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Carolina Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have money saving offers on local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Narrow your Search:
- Choose your vacation week and max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. 2nd Row with View of Ocean -5 Bed & 5 Bath with Pelican's Nest and Elevator! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before you reserve your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is best for your trip.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs applied to your contract.
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the host's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make sure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the property manager right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to stimulate more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
