Sunset Beach rental property booking tips:

Finding the best rental home value:

  • In the Carolina Beach area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • To get the best value, try shifting your family's Carolina Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Carolina Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Start by selecting your trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 263 Our Sea-Est-A by Sunset Vacations has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible online. If not, email the property management company before booking your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what is best for your trip.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .

Tips to have a terrific stay:

  • Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if damages are assessed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a great time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
