How to find the best Wilmington rental experience:

Sticking to a spending budget:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a good way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Carolina Beach area visitors guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Choose vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. 2 historic district condos with river-view balconies & highly walkable locale has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before you book the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a particular Carolina Beach attraction you are enamored with, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Additional considerations:

  • Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Upon arrival, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a terrific stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
