Your family will be close to everything when you stay at this centrally-located place in the Heart of Historic Downtown Wilmington.
An open kitchen / living room for socializing with your entire group.
Lots and tons of beds. 2 Master Bedrooms with private baths.
The space
Our home was constructed in 1860 and we have just done a complete remodel converting it back in to a single family residence (it has been a law office for the last 40 years). The open kitchen and living room are unique to a home from this era. Plenty of room for a family gathering. 2 Master bedrooms. One on each floor. Each has its own private bathroom. A "Kid" bedroom has 2 bunk beds, one with a double bed and the other with a full size bed trundle. It also has a sleeper couch. A great home for a family reunion, bridal event, college reunion, or two couples with their kids. There is also futon (and an option for an air bed) in the downstairs front library if your group needs more space.
Original Heart Pine floors throughout.

The whole, 2 story, 2400 square foot home is yours.

Getting the best Carolina Beach vacation property experience:

Sticking to a budget:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Wilmington. To find the largest rental home within budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local Carolina Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides have coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.

How to choose the best rental home in the Carolina Beach area:

  • Begin by selecting your the best vacation week and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. 1860 House In the Heart of Downtown has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible online. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If there's a particular Carolina Beach beach you love, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
  • If your family is bringing pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
