Old Bridge Diner is a classic breakfast, lunch, and dinner spot that’s both budget-friendly and easy to reach for visitors who are staying both on and off Oak Island. Located on Country Club Drive, and almost hidden next to a busy convenience store and gas station, Old Bridge Diner attracts locals and frequent visitors alike with its classic American staples, seafood dishes, and southern favorites.
The menu is basic but appealing to big appetites, with a wide range of pancakes, egg platters, and breakfast sandwiches for early morning patrons, and a wide range of sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, southern platters, and even classic Italian pasta dishes for lunch and dinner patrons. (Although breakfast is typically available all day as well for late risers.) Hungry patrons can start with an appetizer, salad, or the locally acclaimed clam chowder, and then move on to a fried chicken, fried fish, or land lover sandwich or burger. Though the lunch and dinner fare is nicely varied, Old Bridge Diner is arguably best known for its breakfast fare, thanks to big omelets, biscuit sandwiches and platters, and plenty of hot coffee for an energizing wake-up call. As such, it’s a good option for patrons who need a little fuel and a full meal before heading to the Oak Island beach.

Visitors to historic Southport who want to make a beach escape, or Carolina Beach travelers who need an easy yet scenic route to head south will find the Southport / Fort Fisher ferry a convenient yet completely unique way to explore the southern North Carolina coastline. Though just a short 35 minute ride from the mainland to Pleasure Island, (the home of Fort Fisher State Park, Carolina Beach and Kure Beach), this ferry trip nonetheless gives its passengers exceptional views of the Cape Fear River, and an incredible story to take back home.
Situated on the edge of the Cape Fear Coastline in between the bustling towns of Wrightsville Beach and Carolina Beach, the Masonboro Island Estuarine Reserve is a unique slice of undeveloped and natural barrier island shoreline that’s an important habitat for countless coastal species. Hard to reach but wonderfully isolated, visitors who make a trip to this literal deserted island will be rewarded with great shelling, beautiful landscapes, and miles of beaches to go around.
Marker 57 - 5 Bedroom 4.5 Bath House, Holden Beach, Walk to Beach, On Intracoastal Waterway, Pool, Dock, Sleeps12****New to the Rental Market********Please Note: There is a floating dock, but be aware that the waves can be huge and the water depth can get less than two feet deep at low tide. The float moves gorgeously with the waves. Some boats will handle the waves okay with proper spring lines and fenders. Others should consider it too risky.**** Holden Beach home “Marker 57” is located on the Intercoastal Waterway with its own dock, pool, and a short approximate 5-min. spectacular walk along the marsh to the beach and General Store. Being on the actual ICW is a lot different from a canal home, which is more typical. Marker 57 offers wide sweeping vistas of water, marsh, and nature, instead of feeling so surrounded by other homes. It offers a front row seat to watch the yachts traveling by and other boaters having fun. The dock has a gazebo with plenty of seating, a sink, electricity, and lighting. Thoughtful owners have included kayaks, as this is a great place to use them! The owners also say that the fishing has proven to be superb. Due to the East/West orientation of the waterway here, Marker 57 gets both sunrise and sunset vistas that can be spectacular! Dolphins can often be seen cruising by on a regular basis. The 50-acre marsh next to the home is a great natural asset for Marker 57. There is a amazing tidal creek that curves right in front of the home and right beside the home. It provides a lot of bait for fishing and offers a fun, 1-mile round-trip around an island and into the waterway for kayaks. The pool adds tons of fun to Marker 57. It is a nice 13x26 size and overlooks the marsh. The pool can be heated (for an additional fee) if you choose. The owner has placed regulation marks on the pool deck and supplied a Corn Hole game set for you to savor. The pool area also has its own hot and cold outdoor shower. A Grandiose Central Hang-Out has been created on the ground level in the garage. If it is really hot or rainy, but you still want to be outside, this is the place to be! It’s striking how nice this area can be when all three bay doors are open to the view of the marsh and creek! Open the front and back doors as well and let the breeze come through. In addition to room for two cars, there is a sizable sitting area with TV and a Ping-Pong area. There is a second laundry room with refrigerator and freezer, microwave, and air fryer, as well as a full bathroom with huge utility sink and bathtub. This area is called “Grand Central” due to its location between the dock and pool, people coming and going to the beach, and people in and out of the home. This is a great part of Marker 57.Marker 57 has 5 bedrooms including, the bunk room. All 5 bedrooms have enormous TVs, elegant vistas, and direct access to the outside porches. 2 bedrooms have private full baths. 2 bedrooms have a shared full bath. There is a half bath in the hall near the bunk room. Plus, the full bath on the ground level.
